Among mining machinery and equipment, which equipment can crush large stones over 1 meter, besides jaw crusher, it is hammer crusher. Therefore, the two rough crushing equipment are inevitably often compared by users, which one is better? Today, this article analyzes from multiple aspects such as crushing effect, crushing range, crushing capacity, etc., to explain to you which one is better, hammer crusher or jaw crusher?
Which one is better, jaw crusher or hammer crusher
1. Crushing effect
The jaw crusher crushes the stone by squeezing the two jaws, and the finished product is mostly needle-shaped and flat, and the particle size is larger;
The hammer crusher beats the stone into slag by a high-speed rotating hammer, and the discharge port is also equipped with grate shaping. The finished product discharged has fewer needle-shaped pieces, more rounded particles, and more uniform particle size, which can be used as finished sand and gravel.
2. Crushing range
The jaw crusher can crush various high-hardness ores and medium-hardness ores (compressive strength between 300-350Mpa), such as granite, basalt, pebbles, diabase, gold ore, iron ore, etc., as well as limestone, calcite, coal gangue, dolomite, bauxite, etc. of normal hardness. The feed size is ≤1200mm, and the discharge range can be adjusted between 10-350mm.
The hammer crusher is not suitable for crushing stones with higher hardness (compressive strength is generally less than 200Mpa). It is often used for crushing medium-hardness stones such as limestone, gypsum, coal, and calcium stone. The feed size is ≤1000mm, and the discharge range can be adjusted between 0-60mm.
3. Crushing capacity
The jaw crusher is used for stone crushing, with an output range of 1-1590t/h. When crushing larger materials, the discharge material cannot be used as a finished product and needs to be crushed for secondary processing;
The hammer crusher is used for stone processing, with an output range of 100-3000t/h. The equipment can be formed in one step, integrating coarse crushing, medium crushing and fine crushing, without the need for secondary crushing and finishing.
Both jaw crushers and hammer crushers are commonly used equipment in sand and gravel aggregate production lines. They have simple structures and are easy to use. So when should a jaw crusher be used and when should a hammer crusher be used?
Look at the hardness of the material: For crushing large hard rocks, choose a jaw crusher. For crushing large medium-hard stones, choose a jaw crusher or a hammer crusher, which one has a higher cost performance.
Look at the finished product requirements: Jaw crushers are usually combined with impact crushers and impact crushers to form a set of sand and gravel production lines. Therefore, jaw crushers are used for high finished product requirements, and hammer crushers can be considered for general finished product quality requirements.
In short, due to the differences between hammer crushers and jaw crushers, when choosing a machine, we should consider factors such as the hardness of the object, the size of the input and output materials, the output and the humidity of the raw materials, and choose a suitable crusher in order to build a production line that suits us, save investment and optimize configuration.
